Card Crawl will get its second significant update before the end of the year.

This will include new cards that should shake up the play even more (but not too much). Developer Tinytouchtales mentioned the idea of having monsters you can recruit as monsters to fight against other monsters.

Other ideas include a Shop-Box that will host a "Heist-Cardthat can steal sold items." And a card that inverts the function of items and weapons - "a potion could become a weapon, a sword or shield a potion."

But the biggest part of this update will be a Dungeon Builder. Yes, it'll let you create your own dungeons for other players to crawl through.

"The Dungeon Builder will allow Decks to have larger starting values than 10 for individual cards," Tinytouchtales said.

"In addition Decks won’t have to have all card types. This means that you can create decks that are only playable with a specific set of ability cards or a Deck in which you can’t heal and so on."

These user-built dungeons will also have highscore tables like the Daily Dungeons. So you'll easily be able to compete with other players.

But that's not all. Tinytouchtales also noted that it's working on an "unofficial" successor to Card Crawl. It'll be another Solitaire-style card game but with fresh ideas and a new theme.
Another card crawler
Anyway, Card Crawl is one of my top mobile games this year so hearing news of it getting more content has put a silly smile on my face.

We gave it a Silver Award in our review calling it a "brilliant distillation of the dungeon crawler."

You can purchase Card Crawl for £2.29 / $2.99 on the App Store, or download it for free on Google Play and the Amazon Appstore.

"Oh, you think a couplet of poetry a convincing argument!" scoffed Anne. "That is so like a man."

A HORSE, Ox, and Dog, driven to great straits by the cold, sought shelter and protection from Man. He received them kindly, lighted a fire, and warmed them. He let the Horse make free with his oats, gave the Ox an abundance of hay, and fed the Dog with meat from his own table. Grateful for these favors, the animals determined to repay him to the best of their ability. For this purpose, they divided the term of his life between them, and each endowed one portion of it with the qualities which chiefly characterized himself. The Horse chose his earliest years and gave them his own attributes: hence every man is in his youth impetuous, headstrong, and obstinate in maintaining his own opinion. The Ox took under his patronage the next term of life, and therefore man in his middle age is fond of work, devoted to labor, and resolute to amass wealth and to husband his resources. The end of life was reserved for the Dog, wherefore the old man is often snappish, irritable, hard to please, and selfish, tolerant only of his own household, but averse to strangers and to all who do not administer to his comfort or to his necessities.

It feels like only yesterday that Never Alone: Ki Edition was last on sale but hey, here we are. Though it's still full price on the App Store, Google Play has dropped its price recently to £1.59/$1.99.

Never Alone is an emotive puzzler/platformer based around a young Iñupiat girl, Nuna, and her fox as they search for the source of an endless blizzard that threatens the survival of everything they love. You control both characters throughout the game, moving one to help the other in order to traverse a harsh environment full of pitfalls and deadly traps.

The lovely thing about this game is its in-depth look into Iñupiat culture and the use of their passed-down stories to fuel Never Alone, giving it extra body and substance.

Grab Never Alone: Ki Edition now on Google Play for £1.59/$1.99.

What the Golf?, the joyously silly golf parody, has just received a giant update that adds 30 sports-themed levels. The Sporty Sports expansion is just about the best replacement for the 2020 Olympics one could hope for, haphazardly forcing a sort of golf into a range of different sports.

The trailer below shows off the game's interpretation of horse racing, pole vaulting, running, weight lifting, diving, and more. Much like the vanilla levels, they look incredibly daft – which is obviously a glowing compliment.

Cast your mind back and you might remember the bite-sized RPG Postknight. Happy news - it's coming to mobile on February 9th.

Postknight re-imagines the role playing genre, sticking it into bite-sized chunks instead of lengthier campaigns in this delivery-driven adventure. As the title suggests, we play as a plucky Postknight - a knight charged and entrusted with difficult and dangerous deliveries - and venture through the kingdom of Kurestal.

What's lovely about the game is that it's accessible to everyone, whether you're a hardcore player, or just casual gamer. Even if you only have time to play the game for ten minutes on the bus, your little knight will continue delivering and reaping rewards, meaning the next time you launch the game you'll have a nice surprise waiting.

As mentioned on the Touch Arcade forums, Postknight is slated to launch on iOS and Android on the 9th February. From what I understand the game will be free-to-play with the use of IAPs.

Steins;Gate Elite headlines this week's Switch releases, with a complete overhaul of the original game's visuals lifted almost directly from the anime adaptation. But that's not all - there's also Yume Nikki Dream Diary, Dungeon Stars, Aragami: Shadow Edition, QUBE 2, and even more.

Indeed, it's that time of the week where we look at what's coming out on Switch, sifting through the masses of games to find the true gems that need your attention - or your downloads, at least.

We'll cover as much as we can, but this is by no means a comprehensive list. Instead, we want to pick out games we know you'll love, or at least the ones that are big and important, alongside a few of the smaller games you may not have seen yet.

And we'll try to hit as many genres as we can, so there should be something here for everyone. But don't get mad if there's nothing you like! We are at the whims of the publishers and developers just like you.

So, grab yourself a cuppa, get your Switch, and let's dig in and see what new games you can get for yourself this week. You never know, your next favourite game of all time may be hiding amongst our list. And be sure to comment if you find something which you do decide to pick up - we'd love to hear what's taken your fancy this week.Steins;Gate ElitePrice: $59.99/£53.99

Official Description: "Follow a group of young, tech-savvy “lab members” who discover the means of changing the past via e-mail using a modified microwave.
